E-Waste & Electronics Recycling in Asheville
We've been recycling computers and electronics for Asheville households and small businesses for years — and in 2024 we spun that side of our work into its own dedicated brand, Scrap Circuit, with its own Asheville drop-off center opening very soon. Whether you have one old laptop or an office full of retired gear, we've got you covered right here in Asheville.
Two ways to recycle with us
1. Drop it off at our shop
Easiest option for households or small amounts. Walk in with your electronics during business hours — no appointment needed.
- Address: 5 Miller Rd South, Suite 1, Asheville, NC 28803
- Hours: Mon–Fri, 10 AM – 4 PM
- Cost: Free for most items (TVs & monitors have a per-unit fee — see below)
2. Schedule a pickup via Scrap Circuit
For businesses, offices, or anyone with 25+ items. Our sister brand Scrap Circuit handles pickup, hauling, and certified disposal — flat fee, no hassle.
- Flat $99 pickup fee (25+ items)
- Certified data destruction: $25 per drive
- 10-mile service radius from Asheville
What we accept
- Laptops and desktops (any brand, any age)
- Monitors and displays (fee applies)
- Hard drives & SSDs (wiping included)
- Servers, UPS units, switches, routers
- Keyboards, mice, cables, power bricks
- TVs, plasmas, CRTs (fee applies)
- Printers, scanners, networking gear
- Phones, tablets, peripherals
- Circuit boards & loose components
- Office equipment & small electronics
Items with a recycling fee
TVs, monitors, plasmas, and CRTs contain leaded glass and hazardous components that require EPA-compliant handling. We charge a flat per-unit fee — same rate for both drop-off and Scrap Circuit pickup:
| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| Computer monitors | $10 each |
| TVs 30"–49" | $15 each |
| TVs 50" or larger | $20 each |
| Plasmas & CRTs (any size) | $20 each |
Data destruction & hard drive wiping
Worried about what's still on your old drives? We wipe drives to NIST 800-88 specifications — the same standard government agencies and HIPAA-bound healthcare facilities use. Bundled free with every recycling job.
- NIST 800-88 drive wipe: Free with recycling
- Certificate of Destruction: $25 per drive (for HIPAA, SOC 2, or legal compliance records)
- Physical drive shredding: Available on request — ask your technician
What we can't accept
- Major appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves)
- Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
- Alkaline or loose household batteries (try Earth Fare or Lowe's battery drop-off)
- Smoke detectors (contact the manufacturer — they're radioactive)
- Anything leaking, corroded, or visibly hazardous
Why recycle with us?
- Certified downstream disposal. Nothing ends up in a landfill or shipped overseas — every device goes to a verified R2/e-Stewards-aligned processor.
- Locally owned & operated in Asheville. We're not a middleman — we handle the hands-on work.
- Reusable gear gets a second life. Anything we can refurbish goes back into circulation on our shop floor instead of into the shredder.
- Data security guaranteed. NIST-spec drive wiping on every machine.
